MCX announces rebalanced weights of iCOMDEX indices for 2025

NEW DELHI – The Multi Commodity Exchange of India has announced rebalanced weights of iCOMDEX indices for 2025, the domestic bourse said. The new weights will be effective from January during the respective rollover days of the index, MCX said in a circular Monday. The indices include bullion, base metals, energy, and composite indexes.
The MCX iCOMDEX indices are rebalanced annually before the start of the January rollover period. MCX usually announces the weights in October, three months in advance of the actual rebalancing of the index.
In the bullion index, the weightage of gold will change to 60.11% from 59.42% and silver to 39.88% from 40.57%. In the base metals index, aluminium will hold 29.58% weightage from 31.37%, lead 4.17% from 3.97%, and zinc 26.24% from 34.64%. The weightage of copper will remain at 40.00%. In the energy index, crude oil will carry 49.85% weightage from 53.69% and natural gas 50.14% from 46.30%. End
