NAFED approves bids to procure moong, masur from some states

MUMBAI - The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd has approved bids for the procurement of 1,654 tn moong from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The federation also approved bids for the procurement of masur from Madhya Pradesh, Hyderabad, Gujarat and Delhi, according to India Pulses and Grains Association. These pulses are purchased by the federation under the government's price stabilisation fund and the price support scheme.

 

NAFED is one of the central nodal agencies for procurement of 16 notified agricultural commodities of oilseeds, pulses and cotton under the price support scheme. When the market price of some commodities rules at or below the declared minimum support price, the agency procures these stocks directly from the farmers at or above the minimum support price as declared by the respective state governments. 

 

The agency, on Saturday, approved bids to procure 894 tn and 760 tn moong from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh at 7,456 rupees per 100 kg and 7,802 rupees per 100 kg respectively, according to a market update by the India Pulses and Grains Association. The stocks of moong to be bought from Rajasthan are from the kharif 2022 season, while those from Madhya Pradesh are from the summer 2022 season. 

 

The federation approved bids to procure masur from Madhya Pradesh at 6,022-6,102 rupees per 100 kg, from Hyderabad at 5,600 rupees per 100 kg, from Gujarat at 5,600 rupees per 100 kg and from Delhi at 5,053 rupees per 100 kg, under the price stabilisation fund, according to the notification by the pulses body. The quantity of masur to be procured was not specified by the federation.  End
