MUMBAI – Prices of mustard, soybean, and groundnut were unavailable at Jaipur in Rajasthan, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, respectively, traders said. Most of the markets were closed today on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, they said.
MUSTARD seed prices in the benchmark market of Jaipur were steady at 6,075-6,100 rupees per 100 kg on Saturday, said a trader from Jaipur who did not want to be named. "Kota mandi in Rajasthan is closed today on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan," Mahesh Sameriya, a Rajasthan-based trader said. Wholesale prices of refined mustard oil were steady at 1,140 rupees per 10 ltr in Mumbai, data from the Solvent Extractors' Association of India showed.
SOYBEAN prices were unavailable today in Indore as markets were closed, according to Sandeep Sarda, a local trader. Wholesale prices of refined soyoil were steady at 950 rupees per 10 ltr in Mumbai, according to the Solvent Extractor's Association of India.
Similarly, GROUNDNUT prices in Gondal were unavailable as major mandis were closed in the state, Ashok Virvani, a local trader, said. Virvani further said export demand for groundnuts is sluggish and the high moisture content in stocks is recently affecting groundnut prices negatively. Wholesale prices of refined groundnut oil were up 1.4% at 1,450 rupees per 10 ltr in Mumbai, data from the SEA showed.
Moreover, huge imports of edible oils are also weighing on prices, Virvani said. India's vegetable oil imports rose 7% on year to 1.89 mln tn in July, the SEA said in a release today.
