Karnataka invites bids for 5.6 mln tn tur supply for mid-day meal

MUMBAI – The Karnataka government has invited bids from tur dal trading entities to supply the pulse for the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman mid-day meal scheme for 2023-24, according to the NCDEX e Markets Ltd circular. The auction for 5.6 mln tn will be conducted on Tuesday.
Tur has to be supplied to wholesale points of the Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corp godowns situated in talukas as per requirement. The quantities indicated for districts may vary depending upon the requirement as indented by respective district education officers from time-to-time, the circular said. Prices shall be quoted for 100 kgs, it added.
The mid-day meal scheme is a school lunch provided for children in government and government-aided schools in India as a part of the PM-POSHAN programme to improve their nutritional levels and support education. End
