NEW DELHI – The wholesale and retail sales of Jaguar Land Rover, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors Ltd., fell in the June quarter compared with the same quarter a year ago as well as with the previous quarter. In a filing with the stock exchanges, Tata Motors said JLR's June quarter wholesale volume was 87,286 units, down 10.7% on year. In the March quarter, Jaguar Land Rover's wholesale volume was 111,413 units.

The company said the retail sales volume of the subsidiary in the June quarter was 94,420 units, down 15.1% on year. The company had on Apr. 7 reported a retail sales volume of 108,232 units for the March quarter.

"Volumes reduced in line with the company's expectations, following a challenging quarter... (largely reflecting) the planned wind down of legacy Jaguar models ahead of the launch of (the) new Jaguar, and a pause in shipments to the US during April 2025 following the introduction of US import tariffs," Jaguar Land Rover said in a press release.

According to JLR, over 77% wholesale volume for the June quarter came from a mix of Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Defender models. JLR will report its financial results for the June quarter in August, the company said.

Monday, shares of Tata Motors ended flat at INR 688.85 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
