India received an average rainfall of 57.3 millimetres in the week ended Wednesday, 14% below the normal of 66.7 millimetres for the week, according to the India Meteorological Department. Rainfall was more than the long-period average in two of the four homogeneous regions and below average in the rest, the weather bureau said.
